Staff Report Sabbir Hossain: Bir Shrestha Nur Mohammad Sheikh was born on 26 February 1936 in the village of Mahishkhola in Chandibarpur Union of Narail Sadar Upazila. Father Mohammad Amanat Sheikh and mother Jennatunnesa, Zennata Khanam. He lost his parents at an early age.
He studied till seventh class. None of his two wives survived. Currently one He has a son and three daughters. He died on 5 September 1971 in a frontal battle with the Pak army at Goalhati and Chhutipur in Jessore district. It is known from the biography of Nur Mohammad Sheikh, before 26 February 1959 Joined Pakistan Rifles (EPR).
At present ‘Border Guard of Bangladesh’ (BGB). After working at the Dinajpur border for a long time, he was transferred to Jessore sector on 10 July 1970. Lance Naik was promoted. He took part in the war of liberation in 1971 in Sector 7 comprising Jessore region. Colonel (Retd.) He died on 5 September 1971 in a frontal battle with the Pak army at Goalhati and Chhutipur in Jessore district. On this day, comrade Nannu Mia was seriously injured in the firing of the Pak army, but Nur Mohammad continued firing at the enemy with LMG in his hand and Nannu on the shoulder. Suddenly his knee was broken by a mortar hit by the Pak army. Yet he continued to shoot. At one point, Nur Mohammad Sheikh fell to his death. He was buried at Kashipur village in Sharsha upazila of Jessore.
In recognition of his contribution to the war of liberation, he was awarded the title of ‘Bir Shrestha’. Meanwhile, Begum Fazilatunnesa 2018 is the second wife of Bir Shrestha Nur Mohammad Sheikh On November 21, at 7 pm at the Dhaka Combined Military Hospital. He died while undergoing treatment. Long before this, the first wife of Bir Shrestha Nur Mohammad Sheikh died.
